About Tellas
Largely inspired by flora and foliage, Tellas uses abstract organic patterns, recognizable by a sophisticated aesthetic and a great attention to details, to create poetic and meditative artworks. Ranging from drawings on paper to large-scale murals all over the world. By juxtaposing his work directly into the urban context, Tellas reflects on the ties between humans and nature and the complex dynamics that blends us into a singular system.`

A little word by Tellas…

“I have often heard stories about India as a place that changes your life. The culture and lifestyle, along with a very strong spirituality, being totally different from any other country. Going to Delhi for my trip, I was expecting a place with a very big population, with a totally different way of living from mine.

I can safely say that Delhi is among the most lively and chaotic cities I've ever seen. More than Sao Paulo, or New York, which are active cities, but still more precise and ordered. The city is full of markets, which are as big as entire neighbourhoods. I really enjoyed seeing how people in Delhi often live in the streets, and spend very little time in their homes, and the street food is absolutely delicious! The colors, scents, the vastness of the landscape and the inhabitants are among the most impressive things I've seen in my life.

During my trip I wandered throughout the city, I visited the parks, nurseries and some monuments. For my artwork I played with the color contrasts present in the monuments and landscape of Delhi. I have observed and photographed some of the most interesting vegetation I’ve ever seen, and then I’ve sampled the strongest color tones, such as the classic red "terracotta", found on some particular monuments such as those inside the Sunder Nursery.”

Travel diary

I have arrived! I landed in Delhi on Monday the 4th february at 8AM in the morning. The vert first thing i faced is the grey color hanging all around. It looks like fog, but it’s just the pollution of this city.

The first two days I spent my days walking around the Lodhi pork, deer park, hauz khas and Old Delhi. It provided a great contrast between the peaceful and the silent green of the parks, and the crazy busy streets where people, like ants, walk in all their different directions.

Colors and smells are so different, everything is new. I’m awaiting for new inspiration.

I think markets are one of the most interesting things in this city. All localities have markets. Two days ago I took a taxi from Lodhi colony to the hotel where I’m staying. After 3 minutes, the driver told me that the traffic had changed the time it would take to get to the hotel. What was at first 7 minutes, was now more than an hour.

Traffic in India is unpredictable even while using google maps. I decided to walk as it was only 5 kilometers. It was one of my favorite nights here, lost between lights, sounds and smells. I walked almost 2 hours to find my way back to the hotel.

2 samosa, some nuts, my sketchbook. I’m ready for tomorrow.
