A little word by Bakpak
"The Summer Camp, and especially everything that Camp Wandawega has to offer, made for an amazing week. Arguably, all of the great thought-provoking conversations we had made the biggest impression on me personally. We talked about existence, existence within structures not of our own making, uneasiness taking on certain concepts that are good but somewhat flawed, our upbringing, and what it’s like where we live. We all had a lot of overlapping interests, so it was great to exchange thoughts. I also had the chance to sit and illustrate and make watercolors again. I’d brought a small empty container and started finding cool things around the camp and then when I found myself a little restless I would sit at a picnic table and just draw and paint.
I was the first to arrive at the camp and David showed up soon after myself, and we just went around trying all of the things the camp had to offer. So we each went out on a boat and found it to be fairly peaceful and it ended up being a morning-ish routine to go out on the water everyday. I really enjoyed making pasta with our chef at the camp, Hyun and Cody. Everything we had was so good, the fish, kimbap, mushroom soup, and obviously the pasta. Honestly all of the food was amazing especially because it was made specifically for us.
I hadn't had the chance to really sit and illustrate a piece in a while, so for my artwork I combined my drawing with a manipulated photo I took while on one of my pondering strolls. The solitude sign refers to the fact that in life, I celebrate my solitude, Good or Bad; It tends to lead to a lot of self-discovery. My time at the Summer Camp was filled with welcomed company of new friends but also some discovery time in a new place with new surroundings."
