About Linnéa Andersson
In her paintings, Linnéa Andersson has an ongoing investigation of how to describe an emotion without words. Working from her studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, she is mediating a human language without a human expression, through the shapes and forms of an abstract leaf. The leaves speak to Linnéa, writing her diary through their wobbly shape and the space in between them and the outline of the canvas.

Summer Camp
Linnéa Andersson is one of the four artists of our Jaunt Summer Camp. Together with four other artists we sent them to Ferage, Belgium, in the heart of the Ardennes for a retreat. Connecting with each other, with nature, and sharing creative processes along the way.

A little word from Linnea…
“I tried to have as few expectations as possible before the trip, I was mostly nervous! But of course, I was really looking forward to meet the other artists and see what the countryside of Belgium looked like. I had never been to a summer camp and I’ve never been in Belgium before, so it was a lot of firsts for me! Meeting the other artists definitely made the the biggest impression on me, without a doubt. It was a really nice way for me to gain their knowledge of a world that I’m fairly new to. To actually have that time to sit down and have a long chat is really not that common to me, so I really appreciated that.
I must confess that I was most surprised by the total silence that surrounded the house that we stayed in, and the fact that I really loved it. I’m a total city rat otherwise and I love noises that I hear all around me, it actually calms me a lot, but that silence was something new to me. It was like a big hug, and it felt really natural and comfortable.
When I create an artwork, I use the canvas as my diary. The blue in the painting I made represents me (since it’s my signature colour) and when I can be totally myself at the fullest point, heading upwards right after having been watered with much inspiration, knowledge and the wisdom of the other artists. But the painting also features a camouflage print, since - to be honest - we were out in nowhere, being constantly scared of wild boar, enjoying the landscape through the woods on mountain bikes and listening for the deers mating roar.”
